Safety
Feeling settled rather than on guard, so you can think clearly and respond rather than react.

£24 billion of that comes from people coming to work while they're struggling, and underperforming as a result. Research also shows that employers get back around £4.70 for every £1 they invest in supporting mental health.

Sound Outside works with teams and businesses, using nature immersion and the creative process to help people 'Reset to Real': to get out of their heads and into their bodies, quieten the noise, and find a deep sense of calm, confidence and connection.

You spend a full day in a beautiful woodland setting with professional musicians, taking part in a range of structured activities designed to build confidence, creativity and connection.
The day moves through simple rhythm games and activities, and ends with a piece of music the group has composed and played through together.
No one needs any experience. There's no pressure to perform, and no one is asked to talk about their job.

Why it works
Everything we do is built around five principles. We ask your team about each one a week before the day, at the end of it, and two weeks later. That shows the immediate before and after, but also the longer term, lasting impact of the day.
Feeling settled rather than on guard, so you can think clearly and respond rather than react.
Being yourself, and sharing your actual thinking, without editing how you come across.
Knowing that what you bring, from your own background and experience, is genuinely valued.
Genuine trust in the people around you, and a shared sense of purpose and achievement.
With the first four in place, creativity naturally emerges: the confidence to innovate and try something new.
Afterwards we send you a short report with the scores for each, what people said in their own words, and how things looked two weeks later.

Try 'Reset to Real'"I now have the confidence, if I'm in a situation, to join in a jam."
"The importance of intentionally spending time outside my comfort zone to help expand my capacity for discomfort."
We asked people to rate each of the five conditions in the week before their day in the woods, at the end of the day, and again two weeks later.
Scores out of 10. Safety: Before 5.8, End of day 9.4, Two weeks later 7.8. Authenticity: Before 5.7, End of day 9.1, Two weeks later 8.0. Belonging: Before 6.1, End of day 8.9, Two weeks later 8.0. Connection: Before 6.3, End of day 9.3, Two weeks later 8.3. Creativity: Before 6.4, End of day 9.1, Two weeks later 7.5.
All 23 people who took part said they would recommend it to a friend or colleague.
