A day in the woods spent connecting with nature, with yourself and with other people through creative sound and music. Small groups of 12 to 16 people, led by experienced facilitators. You don't need any musical experience.

All three are at Tortworth Arboretum, near Thornbury in Gloucestershire, from 9:45am to 5pm. £45 per person.
Book a placeWhat happens on the day
Arriving and settling. A warm welcome, time to settle in, and a slow walk through the woods, listening to the sounds and noticing what's around you.
Listening. Short, simple games with rhythms and instruments, so the group gets used to making sound together. Nobody is put on the spot.
Making something together. In small groups, using drums, tuned instruments and anything you've brought, you build up sounds and rhythms into a piece of music. Every contribution counts, whatever your confidence.
Sharing. Each group plays what they've made for the others. It's a celebration, not a concert, and you choose how you take part.
Closing. Time by the fire to look back on the day together before heading home.
Phones go off or on silent for the day, so everyone can be properly there.
Practical details
Where: Tortworth Arboretum and Forest Centre, near Thornbury, South Gloucestershire. There's parking a short walk from where we work, and compost toilets on site.
What to bring: Sturdy footwear for woodland ground, warm and waterproof layers, a water bottle, and a packed lunch. You're welcome to bring an acoustic instrument if you play one, but you don't need to. Everything else is provided, including a seat and a cushion.
Food: Food isn't included, so bring a packed lunch and any snacks and drinks you'd like for the day.
Access: The woods are a semi-wild space. If you have access needs, sensory considerations or mobility questions, get in touch before booking and we'll talk about how we can support you.
Weather: We go ahead in most weather, with shelter if we need it. If conditions are genuinely unsafe, we'll be in touch in advance.
